Timeline
16:10
Pick up a coffee and pastry at Åhléns City. It is a large department store in a central location with a good selection of items, and the cafe area is a quick, quiet start to the afternoon.
16:40
Head to Stockholm City Hall. Arriving an hour before sunset allows you to join a public tour and see the Blue Hall and Golden Hall in the softening light before the evening rush.
17:10
Climb the tower for a view of the Old Town. The climb (or the lift for half the way) offers a great vantage point to watch the sun set toward the WSW over the water.
18:10
End the evening with a celebratory meal at Frantzén. As the only restaurant in Stockholm awarded three Guide Michelin stars, it is the perfect high-note finish to a special day.
Local tip
Tours to the City Hall Tower run about 10 times a day from May to September, but tickets are only sold on the day of the visit. Book your tour slot early in the afternoon to ensure you have time for the tower climb before sunset.
