Grab a coffee or a light snack at The Veranda Cafe. It is open late enough for you to linger and watch the sky change colors from the edge of the golf course.

Walk 11 minutes east-southeast from the cafe to the main viewing area in Clove Lakes Park. Find a spot near the lakes where the serpentine rocks frame the view. The sun is low and casting long shadows across the water.

Watch the sun dip below the horizon toward the WSW. The golden light fades quickly, leaving a soft blue glow over the tulip tree and the ponds.

Stroll 14 minutes northwest to the playground area. It is a quiet, sheltered spot to rest your legs and reflect on the day as the park empties out.
Local tip
The Veranda Cafe closes at 23:30, so you have plenty of time to eat or drink before heading to the park. The walk from the cafe to the viewing spot is short and flat.
