Walk 13 minutes to the Gateway Arch panorama viewpoint. Arrive here half an hour before the sun dips. The angle faces WNW, which is perfect for watching the light shift as the sun sets toward the WSW, casting long shadows and golden hues across the monument.

End the evening at Three Sixty. It is a short walk away and stays open late, giving you a place to unwind and reflect on the view after the sun has gone.
Local tip
The Arch is open until 10 PM in summer, but the tram to the top closes one hour before. If you plan to go up, book ahead. For this sunset walk, the exterior viewpoints are the star.
