Walk to Károly Lookout Tower to secure a good spot. The tower is 23 metres high and offers an exhibition hall inside. Arrive with time to spare so you can climb up and watch the sky change as the sun begins its descent.

Watch the sunset. The sun sets toward the WSW, casting golden light over the landscape starting around 15:38. This is the peak moment for photography and quiet reflection from the top of the tower.

Head down to Borostyán for breakfast or coffee. It is the closest option near the tower and opens at 07:00, well before the evening golden light period. Enjoy a warm drink or a light meal to recover from the early climb.
Local tip
The walk from Aréna Sopron to the tower is about 36 minutes. If you are starting from the arena, leave early enough to reach the tower before the golden light begins.
Check before you go
- Borostyán opens at 07:00 daily, so it is open for an early breakfast after the morning sunrise event, but verify if you are using a different date's sunrise time as the 'moment'.
- Károly Lookout Tower is a public viewpoint; check if the exhibition hall has specific entry fees or hours on the day of your visit.
