Timeline
17:11
Sit down for a coffee and a pastry at The 1961 Coffee and Art Space. It is just a short walk from the museum and opens early enough to catch the pre-sunset calm. The minimalist art space provides a quiet start before the evening crowds arrive.
17:36
Walk to the Angkor National Museum. Use the free shuttle train from T Galleria department store beside the museum if you prefer not to walk. The museum offers air-conditioned relief and a chance to see the 1,000 Buddhas room. Spend about 20 minutes here looking at the exhibits or simply resting in the cool galleries as the heat of the day begins to fade.
17:56
Head to the Angkor Botanical Garden. This is the spot for the sunset. The gardens are beautifully kept and offer open spaces to watch the sun set toward the WSW. Arrive with enough time to find a comfortable spot among the greenery and mini zoo area. The golden light starts around 17:26, creating a warm glow over the landscape.
18:26
End the evening at the Royal Theatre Restaurant inside the garden complex. It is open until late and serves buffet options. It is a convenient place to stay within the garden grounds after the sun has gone down, allowing you to enjoy dinner without needing to navigate back into the city immediately.
Local tip
