Timeline

  1. 16:55

    Akama Shrine

Walk to Akama Shrine and head up to the viewing area. The shrine sits on a hill with clear views west toward the straits. Arrive early enough to find a good spot as the sky turns gold.

  2. 17:19

    Uomasa Honjin

Stop at Uomasa Honjin for a pre-dinner drink. This pub is open from 17:00, so you will be there just as the sun dips below the horizon. Order some sashimi or fried items to nibble while you watch the last light fade.

  3. 17:49

    Shunrakukan

Walk to Shunrakukan for dinner. This restaurant is open until 22:00 and offers affordable sit-down fugu sets. It is a short walk from your drink stop, making it easy to transition from the evening view to a warm meal.

Local tip

The shrine grounds are quiet in the evening. Keep an eye on the sky from the top as the sun sets toward the WSW. For dinner, the mini-sets at Shunrakukan are a good value if you want to try fugu without breaking the bank.
