Senggigi Beach Daytime Walk

Senggigi Beach is the center of this part of Lombok, but it is often crowded and a bit dirty. Escape the main strip for a quieter walk along the peninsula to a scenic headland temple.

Timeline

  1. 09:30

    Asmara

Start with light meals or drinks at Asmara. It opens at 11:00, but arriving early allows you to secure a table before the midday rush. The kitchen serves European-influenced dishes and has a live seafood tank, though you should order lobster in advance if that is your choice.

  2. 10:15

    Pura Batu Bolong

Walk 29 minutes southeast from the beach to Pura Batu Bolong. This small Hindu temple sits at a scenic headland overlooking Senggigi Beach. The name comes from a rock with a hole in it. At the tip of the headland, you will find an empty chair representing the spirit of the place. It is a quiet spot to stretch your legs and view the coastline from a higher angle.

  3. 10:55

    Warung Buana

End your walk at Warung Buana. Located just 8 minutes from the landmark, this pizza restaurant is open from 08:00 to 23:00, making it a reliable stop for a late lunch or an early dinner as the day winds down.

Local tip

The beach can be a little dirty and hawkers can be a nuisance. Stick to the pathway around the peninsula for a more pleasant promenade away from the main resort strip.
