Timeline
15:49
Grab a coffee and a sweet treat at Fusen, a cafe just across the street from the Battlefield Museum. The warm interior is a welcome start before heading out into the late afternoon chill.
16:19
Walk up to Okayama Signaling Hill. This is the vantage point where the flare was fired to call for reinforcements. Take a moment to look northeast toward the town and then turn your gaze westward to line up the view.
17:04
Stand at the edge of the hill as the sun sets toward the WSW. The light fades over the battlefield landscape, marking the end of the day and the historical moment when the Western Army’s fate was sealed.

Hanaibuki Restaurant Sekigahara
Head to Hanaibuki Restaurant Sekigahara for a late dinner. It is open until 14:00 for food, so this step is actually not viable at sunset. Instead, check the route to a nearby spot or simply enjoy the post-sunset walk.
Local tip
The walk from the museum area to the signaling hill is short but involves some elevation. Wear comfortable shoes. Hanaibuki Restaurant closes for food at 14:00, so it is not an option for a sunset dinner. Consider checking the route to other eateries if you need a meal after the view.
