Timeline

  1. 15:00

    Northwest African American Museum

Visit the Northwest African American Museum. It is a short but powerful experience on the history of Blacks in the Northwest. The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday.

  2. 16:00

    Jefferson Park

Walk south to Jefferson Park. As Seattle's sixth largest park, it offers unparalleled views of the Duwamish River, downtown, and the Olympic Mountains. Arrive here just before the sun dips below the horizon to catch the final golden light.

  3. 17:45

    Kinokuniya

Head west to Kinokuniya. This Japanese bookstore branch is packed with books from and about Japan, along with stationery, plushies, and K-pop CDs. It is a great place to browse while the evening sets in.

  4. 18:15

    Tai Tung

Stay nearby for dinner at Tai Tung. Open since 1935, this is the oldest Chinese restaurant in Seattle. The third-generation owner Harry Chan still runs the place. The restaurant is open until late on weekdays and weekends.

Local tip

The museum is free the first Thursday of every month, but this plan is designed for a general evening visit. Check the museum hours for your specific day, as they close at 17:00 on Wednesdays and weekends but stay open until 19:00 on Thursdays.
