Timeline

    Fremont Brewing

Start at Fremont Brewing for a beer. The large outdoor beer garden is the perfect spot to settle in and watch the afternoon light begin to soften. The venue is open from 11:00 to 21:00, so you have plenty of time before the sun goes down.

  2. 15:44

    Gas Works Park

Walk 44 minutes southwest to Gas Works Park. Arrive just as the golden light starts at 15:54. Find a spot on the grass facing west-southwest. The rusting machinery of the old gasworks creates a striking silhouette against the brightening sky. The sun will set in this direction at 16:44.

  3. 17:14

    Fremont Brewing

Head back to Fremont Brewing for the evening. The indoor area offers a warm contrast to the cooling twilight. It is a local favorite with a wide selection of beer available for pickup or dine-in.

Local tip

The walk from the brewery to Gas Works Park is 44 minutes. If you want to keep the walk shorter, consider starting directly at Gas Works Park and grabbing a drink at Fremont Brewing after the sunset. The brewery is only 9 minutes from the Statue of Lenin, which is closer to the anchor than the park.
