    The small shopping center at the Ben-Gurion College

    Grab a coffee or pastry at the small shopping center. It is the only bar and café hub in the area, perfect for a quick warm-up before the walk. Check that it is open on your day of visit, as hours vary by day of the week.

    Walk to Mitzpe Dor. This viewpoint looks out over the Zin Valley, where the stream winds through the slopes falling from the Avdat plateau. On a clear day, you can see the distant Edom Mountains to the west.

    Ben Gurion's Tomb National Park

    Head to Ben Gurion's Tomb National Park. This is a cute garden containing the tombs of David and Paula Ben-Gurion, offering spectacular views of the surrounding desert landscape.

Local tip

The sun sets toward the WSW in winter and WNW in summer, so the golden light at sunset will hit the valley walls differently than the morning sun. For the best contrast in the Zin Valley, stick to the morning light.
