Grab a bite at Paviljoen Paal 3. It is open from 11:00 to 19:00, so you have plenty of time before the sun goes down. Use this time to settle in and get your bearings near the dunes.

Noordzee Strand Schiermonnikoog
Walk down to Noordzee Strand Schiermonnikoog. It is only a seven-minute walk from the anchor area. The beach offers a clear, unobstructed view toward the southwest, which is where the sun will set.
16:46
Stand by the Noordertoren. This red lighthouse stands tall and active. As the sun dips toward the southwest, the red brick will catch the last light, contrasting sharply with the white sky and sea.
17:06
End your evening at Strandtent Paal 3. Located just an eleven-minute walk away, this is a good spot to stay as the light fades and the air cools down.
Local tip
The Noordertoren is still an active lighthouse. Unlike its white counterpart, the Zuidertoren, this one is painted red and has a radar antenna on top. Check the tide if you plan to walk further along the beach, as the sand can get slippery.
