Timeline
14:00
Walk up to the Hungarian Calvary. The site is free to visit and offers a panoramic view of the town divided by history. Start here to take in the Saint Stephen Chapel and the 100th National Flag Memorial Place while the light is still soft.
14:30
Head down to the Berg Club and Bar. It is a short walk from the calvary. While known as a nightclub in the evenings, it serves as a local hangout. Check if they are open for daytime drinks or snacks, as their listed hours begin at 22:00 in winter months. If closed, this step is optional based on seasonal opening.
15:00
Visit the Observation Tower. Located just 18 minutes from the anchor point in the NW direction, this viewpoint offers a different perspective of the landscape. It is a quiet stop to rest your legs and enjoy the view without the crowds of the main calvary site.
15:40
End your visit at Tesco. Located near the Zemplén Adventure Park, this hypermarket is open until 21:00 on weekdays. It is a good place to pick up some local treats or supplies to take home, concluding your trip with practical ease.
Local tip
The Berg Club and Bar lists evening hours (22:00–04:00) for Sep–May. If you visit in the afternoon, verify if they serve food or drinks outside of club hours, or simply enjoy the exterior atmosphere. The Observation Tower is a quieter alternative to the main calvary hill.
