    Walk up to the Yellow Fortress. It is a pleasant 45 minute walk from the zoo, but from the café it is a shorter stroll into the old town. The fortress is a small bastion that has been rebuilt many times. It offers a great spot to picnic and gaze over the city as the golden light begins.

    Head down to Petica Ferhatović for a late lunch. This popular restaurant serves fresh beef ćevapi in a spacious setting. The waitresses wear traditional Bosnian dresses, adding to the atmosphere. It is an 8 minute walk from the fortress.

The walk from the zoo to the fortress is long, so start with coffee nearby first. Petica Ferhatović is busy, so be prepared for a short wait.
