Timeline
09:00
Arrive at the Centro Cultural São Paulo as it opens. The space is quiet in the morning, perfect for browsing the libraries and seeing the horta (herb garden) before the crowds arrive.
09:45
Walk just six minutes north to Divina Parada for a quick breakfast or snack. It opens early at 06:00, so it will be ready and busy with locals starting their day.
10:15
Head to the Vale do Anhangabaú. It is a 48-minute walk north from the cultural center, but you can cut through the neighborhood streets to make it a pleasant stroll. This large public space between the viaducts offers a wide-open feel in the middle of the city.
11:00
Continue north to Praça da República. From the valley, it is a short walk to this square surrounded by city blocks. It is a calm spot to sit and watch the city life unfold around the historic buildings nearby.
Local tip
The walk from the Centro Cultural to the parks is entirely northward. Keep an eye on the time, as the midday sun in São Paulo can be intense. Bring water.
