Walk the lakeside trails to find a bench facing west. The 3 miles of trails offer several viewing platforms where you can spot bald eagles and alligators while waiting for the light to fade.

Drive or walk to Colorado's Prime Steak for dinner. The restaurant is located near Lake Dot Park, a short distance from the wilderness area. Steaks, prime rib, and seafood are on the menu.

Return to Lake Jesup Wilderness Area for a night walk. The trails remain open, and the darkness offers a different perspective on the wildlife habitat.
Local tip
The restaurant opens at 16:00 on Sundays, but on weekdays it opens at 11:00. Since you are arriving after sunset, you will be well within opening hours for dinner.
