Timeline

    Santa Klara Uharteko Txiringitoa

Grab a drink and a light bite at Santa Klara Uharteko Txiringitoa. It is an open-air spot just seven minutes from the sculptures, perfect for settling in before the light changes. The bar opens at 10:00 so it will be ready for you.

  2. 17:27

    The Comb of the Wind

Walk up to The Comb of the Wind. You are at the western end of La Concha Bay. Find a spot on the rocks or the edge of Ondarreta beach where you can face west. The three steel sculptures stand stark against the sky.

  3. 17:57

    The Comb of the Wind

The sun sets at 17:57. Watch the golden light hit the steel curves of the Comb just before the sun disappears toward the WSW. The contrast between the warm light and the industrial grey of the sculpture is the main event.

  4. 18:17

    Kontxa hondartza

Stroll down to Kontxa hondartza. The beach is a crescent shape just 22 minutes away. Walk along the sand as the light fades and the city lights begin to turn on. It is a calm way to end the view.

Local tip

The walk from the bar to the sculptures is short, but the path down to the beach can be slippery if it has rained. Wear shoes with good grip.
