Timeline

  1. 18:40

    Rojo Y Negro

Grab a pintxo and a drink at Rojo Y Negro. It is a little out of the old town but perfect for seeing how locals do pintxos without the noise. The portions are huge and the prices are reasonable.

  2. 19:10

    Artzain Onaren katedrala

Walk to the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd. Stand in the plaza and watch the golden light hit the vertical stone facade as the sun sets toward the west. The strong verticality of the building is most striking in this light.

  3. 19:55

    Goiz Argi

Head to Goiz Argi for dinner. This tapas bar is famous for its brocheta de gambas (fried prawns with special vinaigrette) and bola de carne. It is the ideal spot to settle in as it gets dark.

Local tip

Rojo Y Negro is slightly further out but offers a more authentic, less touristy pintxo experience. Goiz Argi is busy, so arriving shortly after sunset helps secure a seat.
