Grab a bite at The Prado. The menu features salads, seafood, and pastas. It is one of the few full-service restaurants inside Balboa Park.

Walk through the San Diego Zoo. The entrance is off of Park Blvd at Zoo Place. Use the included Guided Bus Tour or Bus/Aerial Tram to get your bearings without tiring out before the main event.

Find a spot in the zoo to watch the sun set toward the WSW. The sky will darken around 17:05.

End the evening at Amici Park in Little Italy. It is a small park with bocce courts and Italian recipes engraved on the sidewalk plaques.
Local tip
The zoo closes at 5PM, so time your exit to ensure you can still enjoy the final moments of light. Amici Park is a short walk from the zoo area.
