Timeline

  1. 15:35

    Moo Time Creamery

Grab a scoop of ice cream from Moo Time Creamery. It is just a minute walk from the museum and opens at 11:00, so it is ready for you well before the evening rush.

  2. 16:35

    Central Beach

Walk six minutes to Central Beach. Find a spot on the white sand near the dunes where you can read 'Coronado' carved into the earth. The beach faces WSW, aligning perfectly with the setting sun.

  3. 17:05

    Central Beach

Watch the sun dip below the horizon. The golden light peaks around 16:29, but the actual sunset at 17:05 provides the final dramatic color across the bay.

  4. 17:50

    Sunset Park

Walk nineteen minutes to Sunset Park near the north end of the beach. Enjoy the expansive lawn as the light fades. It is a peaceful place to end the evening.

Local tip

The beach is best for families. If you prefer a quieter spot, the lawn at Sunset Park offers a wide view without the crowd.
