Walk up to the Franziskischlössl fortification at the top of Kapuzinerberg. The paved road or forest track leads to the best vantage point. Arrive here to watch the sun dip below the horizon toward the WSW, casting long shadows over the city.

Descend to the old town and dine at Sternbräu. The wood-paneled atmosphere and regional fare provide a warm, traditional end to the climb. The outdoor seating is pleasant if the evening stays mild.

Finish the night at The Shamrock. This pub is popular with university students and offers a lively atmosphere with live music and a wide selection of beers. Expect it to be packed later in the evening.
