Arrive at the Salla Visitor Centre as it opens. The early morning is the quietest time to explore the exhibitions and get hiking advice before the day gets busy. Note that dogs must wait outside unless they are guide dogs.

Head to the adjacent Salla Reindeer Park for a warm drink and a snack. This is the best spot to grab a bite while staying within the visitor centre complex.

Take a short walk along the road toward Sallatunturi resort. The visitor centre is located 3.6 km south-east from the resort, offering a gentle introduction to the landscape.
Local tip
The visitor centre is accessible by wheelchair, but services like the café and souvenir shop are located in the co-located Salla Reindeer Park.
