Timeline
16:40
Grab a drink or light bite at Gulu-Gulu Café. It is a European-style café with outdoor seating on Lappin Park, perfect for settling in before the walk. The curated beer list is a nice touch.
17:10
Walk 9 minutes from the café to the Phillips House. This is your viewing spot. Stand here and look west-southwest. On this date, the sun sets directly behind Proctor’s Ledge about 40 minutes later.
17:40
Watch the sunset. The sun dips behind Proctor’s Ledge, the memorial site where nineteen people were executed in 1692. The stone wall marks the spot. It is a somber, reflective moment.
18:10
End the evening with ice cream at Melt Ice Cream. It is located very close to your viewing spot. Try one of their rotating flavors. Note that on Tuesdays this place is closed, so check the day of the week.
