Timeline

    Front Street Coffeehouse

Grab a warm soup and a sandwich at Front Street Coffeehouse. It is open from 11:00 on Saturdays and Sundays, making it the perfect early stop to fuel up before exploring. The art on the walls rotates regularly, so you will see something new each time.

  2. 11:45

    Friendship of Salem

Walk to the Friendship of Salem. This replica ship is usually docked as a floating museum. You can take irregular dockside tours via Waite & Peirce. The vessel is fully functional and Coast Guard certified, offering a tangible link to the original 1797 trading ship.

  3. 12:45

    Finz

Head to Finz for a seafood lunch. This somewhat fancy spot overlooks Derby Wharf. It is open from 11:30, so you can catch an early bite while enjoying the harbor views. Be aware that it is quite touristic.

  4. 13:45

    Collins Cove Park

End your walk at Collins Cove Park. It is a short walk from the wharf. This park offers a sandy beach, a playground, and an encircling walking path with excellent harbor views. It is a pretty spot to let the energy of the day settle.

Local tip

Front Street Coffeehouse has no Wi-Fi, which is a rare chance to just people-watch and enjoy the quiet atmosphere on a cold day with their hot pear apple ginger juice.
