Timeline
19:00
Grab a drink at The Castle. The beer garden sits within the castle grounds, so you can soak in the history and the hilltop views before the main event.
19:25
Walk east to Town Park. This is the specific vantage point where the sun sets directly behind Halton Castle. Find a spot in the green space and wait for the alignment.
20:15
Head down to the Norton Arms at the base of the hill. It is a short walk from the park area and serves pub food and drinks, ideal for winding down after the cold evening air.
Local tip
The Castle pub is inside the castle walls. The Norton Arms is at the base. Use the hill path to move between them.
