Explore Runcorn Hill Park. Wander through the natural woodland and heathland that make up the former quarry site. Look for the formal landscaping and the model boating lake. If you have time, pop into the cafe to see the Chirotherium dinosaur footprint discovered in the quarry.

Walk four minutes NNE to The Bake House. Order a coffee and cake or a light lunch. It is dog friendly and offers a relaxed spot to rest after your walk.

Esposito's Deli is inside the park and gets busy on sunny days. Arriving at 09:00 when it opens gives you the best chance of getting your treat without waiting. The Bake House is open from 09:00 on Saturdays and Sundays, and from 08:00 Tuesday to Friday, so your 09:00 start works perfectly for both stops.
