Timeline

  1. 10:00

    Miit Coffee

Pick up a coffee and a pancake at Miit Coffee. The brunch is popular on weekends, but on a weekday morning it is a calm start to the day with great vegetarian options.

  2. 10:30

Museum 'Jews in Latvia' and Jewish Community

Walk to the Museum 'Jews in Latvia' and Jewish Community. Arrive right when it opens at 11:00 to have the exhibits to yourself. The small size allows you to take your time reading the English and Latvian displays about Jewish life in Latvia.

  3. 12:30

    Vermanitis

Head to Vermanitis for lunch. It is a short walk away and serves a fantastic range of traditional Latvian food in an authentic setting. The fried fish and salmon steak are standouts.

  4. 15:15

    Esplanade Park

Stroll to Esplanade Park. It is only a five-minute walk from the restaurant. As the sun begins to set toward the southwest around 16:15, the park offers a peaceful space to reflect on the day. The garden designer Georg Kuphaldt’s history adds a layer of intrigue to the landscape.

Local tip

The museum is closed on Fridays and Saturdays, so plan your visit for a weekday or Sunday. Vermanitis is open until 22:00 on weekdays if you want to linger over dinner, but the lunch crowd is lighter earlier in the afternoon.
