Timeline
15:30
Grab a coffee or a light snack at Ludza. It is a pub that opens early, so it is a reliable stop to start your afternoon. The walk from the Old Jewish cemetery is just six minutes.
16:00
Walk through the Old Jewish cemetery. It is a large, silent area between Tējas iela and Ebreju iela that holds a small memorial. Use the time before sunset to reflect on the history of the site before the light changes.
16:15
Watch the sunset. The sun sets toward the SW at 16:15. The open space of the cemetery allows you to see the sky darken without obstruction.
16:45
Head to Dhama for a final drink. This café is open until 18:00 on weekdays, giving you enough time to settle in after the sunset. The nine-minute walk back from the cemetery is easy.
Local tip
If you are visiting on a weekday, ensure you are at Dhama before 18:00 when it closes. The walk between the cemetery and Dhama is short and straightforward.
