Timeline
12:00
Head to the Henry Moses Aquatic Center as it opens. The wave pool and lazy river are the main draws, and arriving right at 12:00 helps you beat the afternoon crowds. Note that ticket sales start three hours in advance of a session, so check the website if you plan to stay late.
13:30
Walk seven minutes to Liberty Park. It is right next to the library and offers a nice break from the water. You can use the picnic areas to rest, watch the local action on the basketball or tennis courts, or let the kids burn off energy at the skatepark.
14:00
Grab a craft beer and some comfort food at Whistle Stop Ale House. This well-established local bar is a favorite for residents. If you are visiting on a weekday, you can catch the happy hour from 3 PM to 6 PM for better deals on drinks.
Local tip
The aquatic center is a big draw for residents in the summer. Arriving early or staying for the evening session (starting at 16:00) can help you avoid the peak midday rush.
