Best time: 15 JanAbout 130 min

Timeline

  1. 16:15

    Barraca do Pingo

Grab a cold drink and some snacks at this beachside bar. It opens early, so you can settle in and watch the morning bustle fade as the day heats up.

  2. 17:15

    Pina Beach

Walk down to Pina Beach. Find a spot on the sand facing west. The waves are weak here, making it a relaxed place to wait for the sky to change color.

  3. 17:45

    Pina Beach

Watch the sun sink toward the WSW. The golden light starts about thirty minutes before this, painting the water in warm tones.

  4. 18:30

    Biruta

Head to Biruta, a lovely bar on the north end of the beach. Get a table with a view to enjoy the sea breeze and the fading light before the night fully sets in.

Local tip

Arrive at the bar early to secure a seat. The beach is a short walk from there, and Biruta is just a minute's stroll north along the sand.
