Timeline

  1. 17:10

    Công viên Hữu Nghị

Grab a coffee at Công viên Hữu Nghị. This park is just a 15-minute walk from the towers and offers a clear view toward the WSW. Find a seat in the shade and settle in.

  2. 17:40

    Ngói đỏ

Walk 14 minutes to Ngói đỏ for a drink or light snack. This café is open until 19:00, so you will have plenty of time to finish before the sun goes down.

  3. 17:55

    Công viên Hữu Nghị

Return to Công viên Hữu Nghị. Position yourself so the Doi Cham Towers are in front of you. The sun sets directly behind the towers around 17:55 local time, creating a striking silhouette against the sky.

  4. 18:10

    Công viên Hữu Nghị

Stay for a while after the sun has set. The light fades slowly, and the park remains a peaceful place to watch the transition from day to night.

Local tip

The alignment at Công viên Hữu Nghị works best between 26 October and 3 November, or 8 February to 16 February. On 9 April, the alignment is visible from công viên Đống Đa instead. Check the route if you choose that park, as it is further away.

Check before you go

  • Ngói đỏ closes at 19:00.
  • Doi Cham Towers open 08:00-11:00 and 13:00-18:00.
