Walk up Cerro de la Cruz. It is a 10-minute walk from the city center. The hill offers a panoramic view of Punta Arenas. Find a spot on the ridge that faces south-southeast to catch the sun dipping below the horizon over the strait.

Head down to Dino's Pizza. It is locally famous for its pizza and sandwiches. Try a Barros Luco with a rhubarb juice to keep the energy up as the evening cools.
Local tip
The walk up Cerro de la Cruz is steep. Wear comfortable shoes. The view is best when the sun is low in the west-northwest, casting long shadows over the city.
