Timeline
15:00
Grab a homemade cake and coffee at Cafe Fanny. The indoor seating offers a warm start before the walk.
15:15
Walk from the old market square to Kevätkumpu library. It is a pleasant 10-minute stroll through the town center.
15:30
Stop by Brunberg to pick up a box of Pusu (chocolate-covered cream puffs). It is a local classic and perfect for eating while walking.
15:45
Arrive at Porvoo Hillfort. The path from the library is about 48 minutes on foot, but if you cut through the Old Town from Brunberg, it is much closer. Stand on the hill as the sun sets toward the SW, casting long shadows over the red wooden houses of the Old Town below.
16:15
End the evening with a Michelin-starred dinner at Vår. The restaurant is open from 17:00 on weekdays and 14:00 on Saturdays, so it will be open for your post-sunset meal.
Local tip
The walk from the library to the hillfort is steep. If you prefer a gentler route, start your walk from Cafe Fanny or Brunberg in the Old Town, which are closer to the hillfort base.
