Timeline
14:44
Start at the historic Post Office. It is the old U.S. Customs Headquarters, a sturdy reminder of Port Townsend’s maritime past since 1854.
15:14
Walk seven minutes to Courthouse Park. It is a quiet green space just off the main drag, perfect for a brief pause before the main event.
15:54
Head to Adams Street Park. From here you have an unobstructed view toward the WSW. The sun will dip below the horizon here shortly. Bring a jacket; the coastal breeze picks up as the light fades.
17:29
Walk back toward the center to Waterfront Pizza. It is open until 19:00 on weekdays and Sundays, or 22:00 on weekends. Order a slice or a whole pie to take upstairs to the funky dining room.
18:29
End the night at LA COCINA. It is open until 20:00 on weekdays and 20:00 on weekends, so arrive early to secure a table before the kitchen closes. The lights are low and the energy is warm.
Local tip
If you are visiting on a weekend, Waterfront Pizza stays open until 22:00, giving you more time to linger over dinner before heading to LA COCINA. On weekdays, you must move quickly from the pizza place to the Mexican restaurant to avoid the 20:00 kitchen close.
