Arrive at City Pier to find a spot on the walkway or climb the lookout tower. The sun sets toward the WSW, so for sunrise you will be looking across the water toward the east. The covered stage area is a good sheltered spot to wait.

Head to the Olympic National Park Visitor Center. It opens at 9AM, which gives you time to digest and explore the small exhibit space or speak with park staff to plan the rest of your day in the park.
