Walk the Foothills Trails. The system is open to hikers and offers picnic tables, so it’s a good place to stretch your legs and prepare for the view. The trail is accessible via Pine St and Little River Rd.

Watch the sunset. On 15 January, the sun sets at 16:48, heading toward the WSW. Find a spot near the picnic tables or the open areas of the trail system to catch the final light.

Stay for the golden light. The golden light begins around 15:57, but since you are arriving at sunset, you will miss the initial golden hour. However, the lingering light after sunset can still be beautiful. The trail remains open for a short while after dark, but head back before it gets too dark.
Local tip
The Foothills Trails are open to various users including horseback riders and motorcyclists. Be mindful of other trail users, especially if you are walking near the edges.
