Arcade Shops at Fifth Avenue Place
Start with a coffee or a light snack at the Arcade Shops at Fifth Avenue Place. The glittering gold arcade is a nice place to settle in before the walk.

Walk down to Point State Park. This is the main spot. Find a spot near the fountain at the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers. The park is open daily until 11 PM, so you have plenty of time.

Watch the sun set toward the WSW. The golden light starts around 16:36, so the sky will be warming up just before the sun dips below the horizon. This is the moment you came for.

After the light fades, take a short walk to North Shore Riverfront Park. It is just a few minutes away and offers an unobstructed view of the downtown skyline as the city lights begin to turn on.

The Arcade Shops at Fifth Avenue Place are open Mo-Fr 10:00-18:00 and Sa 10:00-15:00. Since you are starting before sunset, check that you arrive while they are still open.
