Drive to Serpentine Falls and find a safe spot to park. Walk down to the viewing area early enough to settle in. The falls are best viewed from the platform where you can watch the water cascade against the rock face as the sky changes colour.

Watch the sun sink toward the WSW. The golden light from 18:51 will have already bathed the Darling Scarp in warm tones. Stay until the sun dips below the horizon at 19:26, then linger for a few minutes as the blue hour sets in.

Head back to your car. Since there are no food or drink options listed within Serpentine National Park itself, you will need to drive back toward Perth or to a nearby town like Serpentine for dinner. Check the route for the nearest open restaurant or bar that suits your taste.
Local tip
The park is remote. Bring water and check if you need to pay an entry fee. There are no shops or cafes at the falls, so plan your post-sunset meal in advance.
Check before you go
