Timeline
17:56
Stop at Mrs Brown for a wine. This local favorite is right next to Flipside Burgers, and if you ask nicely, they might deliver your order to your table.
18:26
Take the 998 bus from Fremantle station and get off at the last stop before the bridge over the river. Walk up to Cantonment Hill to claim your spot. The Army Museum is at the foot of the hill if you need a quick pre-sunset break, but the view from the top is the main event.
19:26
Watch the sun set toward the WSW. The light will fade quickly, but the view of the harbour and the Signal Station is worth the climb.
20:11
Head down to Little Lefroy's for a post-sunset coffee and cake. It is a nice little corner café with pretty good food, though there is not much outside seating.
Local tip
The walk from the bus stop to the hill top is short, but the bus ride from Fremantle station is the key transport link. Check the 998 route for the latest schedule.
Check before you go
- Mrs Brown is a wine bar; verify if they are open late enough for a pre-sunset drink.
- Little Lefroy's is small and may be busy after sunset; go early to secure a table.
