Timeline

  1. 18:37

    Mont Blanc

Start the Sentier de la Crevasse trail. The 4.7 kilometre path takes you alongside a 300-metre deep crevice in the side of Mont Blanc. It is a steep dirt track, but the dizzying views make it worthwhile.

  2. 19:22

    The Grotto

Stop at The Grotto. This is not a grotto but a lovely little waterfall nestled in the niche between Mont Sainte-Anne and Mont Blanc. It is a perfect spot to pause and enjoy the golden light before the final ascent.

  3. 20:07

    The Grotto

Watch the sun set toward the WNW. The Grotto offers a clear view of the sky as the day ends.

  4. 20:37

    Mont Blanc

Finish your hike at the summit of Mont Blanc. The steep dirt track leads to the top, offering a final panoramic view as the light fades.

Local tip

The trail is longer and steeper than The Grotto or Mont Sainte-Anne. Wear sturdy shoes and check the route if you are unfamiliar with the Sentier de la Crevasse path.
