    Di Gadri

Start with fresh bread rolls and a Creole breakfast at Di Gadri. The restaurant opens at 08:00 on weekdays, making it the perfect quiet spot to begin your day under the shade of a huge mahogany tree. If you are visiting on a weekend, note that they open later at 11:00.

  2. 08:15

    St. Peter and Paul Cathedral

Walk nine minutes to St. Peter and Paul Cathedral. Arriving at opening time ensures you have the place largely to yourself. Take a moment to look up at the towers, which were not finished until 1901, and admire the yellow and grey painting added in 1926. The cathedral is open from 08:00 to 14:00.

  3. 08:45

    Palmentuin

Stroll eight minutes east to the Palmentuin. This palm tree landscape garden was part of the original city plans and is home to tropical birds and a troop of capuchin monkeys. It is a peaceful green space to digest your breakfast and enjoy the morning air.
