    National Gallery

Walk west to the National Gallery. Enter the building and find a window seat or a quiet corner facing west. The glass structure catches the golden light perfectly before the sun dips below the horizon.

  3. 21:03

    National Gallery

Stay inside or step onto the terrace as the sky shifts from gold to blue. The giant spider sculpture outside frames the twilight well.

  4. 21:33

    The Lookout Bar

End the evening at The Lookout Bar, a short walk away. It is open late and offers a lively atmosphere to unwind after the quiet of the gallery.

Local tip

Check the route if you need to navigate back from the gallery to the bar area. The Lookout Bar is open until 2 AM on weekdays and until 2 AM on weekends, so you have plenty of time.

Check before you go

  • The National Gallery is open until 20:00 on Thursdays in July, but you are visiting for sunset (20:48), so you will be leaving just as it closes or slightly after. If you plan to stay longer inside, note that admission is free on Thursdays after 5 PM.
