Timeline
15:03
Pick up a coffee and a pastry at Kafé Fjord. It is just a minute's walk from the Tramway Museum and opens early enough to be ready before you head out.
15:28
Walk to the Kon-Tiki Museum. The building sits on the waterfront with a clear view to the southwest. Arrive twenty minutes before sunset to find a good spot on the grassy slope or the terrace.
15:48
Watch the sun set toward the WNW. The golden light hits the balsa rafts and the water just before the sun disappears behind the horizon.
16:13
End the evening with a meal at Curry and Ketchup. It is a seven-minute walk back toward the Majorstuen area. The restaurant is open until 22:00, so it is easy to fit in after the sunset.
Local tip
The walk from the Kon-Tiki Museum back to the food options is short but involves some hills. Wear comfortable shoes. The Tramway Museum is closed on weekdays, so this plan works best on a Saturday or Sunday when you can start from there or just use it as a reference point near Majorstuen.
