Take bus line 11 to the terminal station and walk up into the woods to the Olomouc Zoological Garden. The paths are abundant in edible mushrooms, making for a pleasant, quiet stroll before the main event.

Basilica Minor on the Holy Hill
Walk 10 minutes southwest from the zoo area to the Basilica Minor on the Holy Hill. Position yourself to watch the sun set toward the WSW as the golden light peaks.

End your evening with a slow walk back through the wooded grounds of the Zoological Garden as the light fades.
Local tip
The zoo ticket counter closes at 16:00 in winter, but you must leave the grounds two hours after that. Plan your exit so you are not rushing.
