Grab a local brew at St Wenceslas Brewery. It is a large microbrewery with five brews, including wheat and fruit flavoured beers. The new location is non-smoking and has an outdoor area. Check the route to get there from the city center.

Walk to the Botanic Gardens. The outdoor exhibits and rose gardens are across the stream from Bezruč gardens. Arrive with enough time to find a good spot before the light changes.

Watch the sunset. On 15 January, the sun sets at 16:18 toward the WSW. The golden light starts about 15:25, casting a warm glow over the gardens.

End the evening at Vertigo. This subterranean bar is packed with local and international students, featuring mock cave paintings on the walls. It is a good place to meet people because you almost always have to share a table.

The Botanic Gardens are open Tue-Sun 09:30–18:00 from April to October. In January, they may be closed or have limited hours, so check the route and opening status before you go.
