Stop at Café Los Cuiles for a Café Oaxaqueña. The cinnamon-sweet drink is perfect for settling in before the walk. It is open and ready for you.

Walk to the Templo de Santo Domingo. The golden light hits the elaborate Baroque facade and the golden interior decoration, making the space glow. Since this is the most popular wedding spot in Oaxaca, you might see celebrations, but the architecture remains the star.

Centro Fotográfico Álvarez Bravo
Head to the Centro Fotográfico Álvarez Bravo. It is a short walk west-southwest from the church. This colonial building houses changing exhibits of photography. The late afternoon light filters through the space beautifully.
Local tip
Check the route if you want to take a different path, but the walk from the church to the photo center is about 5 minutes. Keep an eye on the opening hours; the café is open until 22:00, so timing is flexible for the drink, but the golden light moment is specific.
