Heinold's First and Last Chance Saloon
Grab a drink at Heinold's First and Last Chance Saloon. This historic 1880s saloon sits right by the water, giving you a head start on the waterfront atmosphere. The tilted bar is a relic from an earthquake, and the views of the bay are immediate.

Walk over to the USS Potomac. The historic presidential yacht is docked just adjacent to Jack London Square. While formal cruises require appointments, you can wander the dockside area to get a feel for the vessel's history as FDR's home away from home.

Watch the sun set toward the WSW. The USS Potomac offers an unobstructed view of the horizon. As the light fades, the silhouette of the yacht against the bay creates a perfect end to the day.
Local tip
