Walk the path into the Mangrove Forest at low tide. The mature trees create a calm, shaded tunnel perfect for an early morning stroll before the heat sets in.
06:10
Stand at the edge of the forest and watch the sunrise. The open water reflects the early light, offering a serene view of the sun breaking over the horizon.
06:30
Head to the Mangrove Restaurant, located just at the eastern end of the spit. By this time, it is open and ready to serve breakfast.
06:50
Sit down for a meal. The restaurant serves local and international dishes, providing a cozy spot to digest the morning air and plan the rest of your day.
Local tip
Check the tide times if you plan to explore deeper into the mangroves, as access is best at high tide for boat trips, but the walking paths are accessible at most times.
Check before you go
- Mangrove Restaurant opens at About 12:00-21:00. If you visit on a day with a later sunrise (e.g., July or October), you may need to bring your own breakfast or visit a different spot earlier. For January or April sunrises (before 07:00), the restaurant will not be open yet.
- If the restaurant is closed, consider visiting Bali Eco Deli (opens 07:00) or Pisang-Pisang (opens 07:00) in Jungut Batu after returning from the mangroves.
