Timeline

  1. 15:29

    Mata Hari Bar

Start at Mata Hari Bar for a pre-sunset drink. It is a small, atmosphere-packed spot where it is easy to strike up a conversation. Arrive early enough to secure a seat before the evening rush.

  2. 15:59

    St Lawrence Church

Walk six minutes southeast to St Lawrence Church. Position yourself to face the WSW. As the sun sets at 16:44, the golden light will illuminate the 15th-century facade and the interior Tabernacl.

  3. 17:14

    Kuhmuhne

After the light fades, head one minute away to Kuhmuhne for a late dinner. Order a Franconian-sized burger. The restaurant opens at 12:00, so it will be open for your post-sunset meal.

Local tip

Mata Hari Bar is small and can get crowded. If you prefer a quieter start, Balazzo Brozzi is an alternative café just 12 minutes away, but Mata Hari offers better social energy for a pre-sunset drink.
