Arrive at Chaffey Dam and secure a parking spot. The dam is 17 km north of Nundle via Nundle Road. Look for parking on the left after passing the Lindsays Gap and West Bank Road turn-offs.
08:30
Take a walk along the bushwalking tracks. Keep your pets on a leash at all times as required. The area offers picnic areas and toilets if you need a break.
09:30
Have a picnic lunch by the water. The dam was built to supply water for Tamworth, so the views are expansive. You can use the shower facilities if you plan to swim or fish first.
10:30
Head to the boat ramps for a final look at the water sports area. If you have a boat, this is a good spot to launch. If not, just enjoy the quiet atmosphere before heading back to Nundle.
